not sure if anyone on here can help was thinking of getting my girlfriend a dog now that we have moved into a house that will be suited to a dog

she was thinking of a jack russell or minature daschund we've never owned dogs are these breeds ok for first time owners any help much appreciated

not very manly dogs i know but its for her ………honest
