My Macbook stopped working last week, the screen went blank and wouldn't start up again. It was making the noise on start up but nothing else was working turned out one of memory sticks fucked up so at the min i am only running on half a gig of memory. Wheres the cheapest place to upgrade to a decent memory again ?

Pretty sure this will be a NAT problem and you need to look into port forwarding

I use an Incase Sleeve then just put it in my leather messenger shoulder bag. It doesn't weigh to much so you don't need to think twice about taking your MacBook out. I've used it since about November 08 this way, taking it to 6th form pretty much every day and on longer trips to London, never had any problems with rain or bumps.

I was also recommended to consider one of these: Looking at it now it seems quite cool, and the pouch for the charger may be useful.

Any Mac users help me out, i have always downloaded files through rapidshare links, websites etc. People are always going on about torrents, i have gave torrent apps a few goes in the past but i can never seem to get them to work/ download quick enough. I have downloaded BitTorrent and using thepiratebay but still can't seem to make to downloads speed up. My broadband is a decent speed now so is it a firewall or setting problem ? anyone help ?

Depends what you want it to do really.
I use Canon's EOS Utility and Image Browser which lets you download the photos and then arranges them in a gallery by date. If you've got a Nikon they will probably have something similar http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe;=off&rlz;=1G1GGLQ_ENRU320&q;=nikon+photo+upload+mac&aq;=f&oq;=&aqi;=
If you just want to simply copy photos from your camera to your computer then there is a program on Macs called Image Capture. Set it as the default program instead of iPhoto.

Ah ok, have a look at Automator then, it's a program (already on your Mac) which you can use to build "tasks" with, like resizing images to a certain size and saving them as a jpeg.

Can anybody maybe offer some help in relation to using Transmission and downloading torrents on Mac in general.
Just recently started downloading on a Mac (always used PC before)
I tried Vuze, but didnt like that so now Im giving Transmission a go.
Ill try and explain my issue, after installing Transmission I tried out a torrent and although it fluctuated a lot, it did seem to occasionally reach my connections actual speed (2mb) but kept dropping. So I checked the settings and the port was closed, I went through the process of opening the port on my router and setting my upload speed correctly.
Now here's the problem, my download speed is now stable, but its only really hitting a third of my connections actual speed.
Why did I occasionally get good speeds when the settings were wrong, but now they're correct its only getting a third of my potential speed?
