So install Lion off the USB.

What lion does is make a small partition on your harddrive that contains the os called a recovery partition. To do an erase and install, after you install Lion

Hold down Command-R during startup and Lion Recovery comes up on the screen from here it lets you chose from different options. If I remember you can do a fresh install from here

joeyjojo wrote: right ive got lion on a usb stick how do i do a complete new install?

Or. Since you have lion on usb, you can just boot it up as suggested, hold alt during upstart, start lion installation, and instead of going trough the whole installation, choose disk utility when the option gives, erase your hardrive, quit disk utility and install lion towards the now empty harddrive. Only if you dont have lion externaly, and just install trough Appstore, then you need to to the two install thing.

There´s nothing comfirmed by Apple about a 13" Retina.. So no. Remember they just updated both the regular 15" and the 13" when they released the Retina mac. And if they put retina on the 13# inch now, which is the consumer line, they have to do that on the 15" line of computers too. And pretty unlikely they would do such a big change so soon after the last upgrade. My 5 cents on the matter. But you never know with Apple..

According to that site timing seems bad! Mid-product cycle….

Does anyone know what will be featured on the new Retina 13"? Basically, is worth waiting for it or i shouldn't care? Is also a price rise to be expected?

I'm Looking to replace my MacBook pro. Not really followed anything in the MacBook world since I bought the pro a few years back. Just wondered if the air could now handle fcp and AE?

As stated before, no-one knowes. Apple has never said they gonna release a 13" retina, hence no-one can possible know. All you got is a rumor.

Few guys in work run Final cut on their "13's hooked up to thunderbolt screens. It wouldn't be my first choice if it was my sole machine but if you go for the 512gb and 8g ram it will handle(to a certain degree) both.

right, ive just bought a mackbook pro, how do i get all the music from my imac to my mbp?

all my music is on my ipod classic, and online ive read a few things about programs to transfer the files, but they all seem to be trials for like 1000 files… i have approx 50gig of music.

i've got a 8gig usb stick, but that'll take ages.

also, is there no way that i can sync my ipod and iphone, with my mbp, rather than just my imac?

thanks in advance!
