Thanks boys, I was just checking just in case I'd missed something.
I hadn't tried Skype but I don't know a lot of people that use it or IChatAV. With Skype, is it possible to access the MSN network, so that your friends can use that and you can use Skype, or do they have to have it too?
I had a video conference with my brother at Uni on ichat yesterday and it worked perfectly.

you can only do Skype to Skype chat and video, or Skype to any phone / mobile for calls

They need a webcam.

The advantage with MSN messenger is that one of the participants doesn't need a webcam.

my mate has one of the latest mac notebooks. it cost him well over 1.5k, hes also but vista on it… as its got a pent processor. ive never seen anything run so fast. Everything is instant i.e click in word and it loads like a flash, its immense.

I heard that its possible to run windows on a flash drive … is that right? would be quite crazy to turn my computer on and be in the desktop within 2 seconds.

i know a fair bit about comps but im not top level!

great place if you ever get computer software / problems. most of the people on there are very friendly and have unbelieveable knowledge on comps.

Skpe is amazing. Back when i used to play counter strike we used to do this thing called 'pranks' with a few yanks we knew. We had like 500man vent(ventrilo) and at about 2am in the morning we used to host pranks. the yanks used to host a skype channel and invite us in there (2 brits, 2 yanks.. 1 streaming it to the vent channel) and they used to ring american phone lines. I remember pranking one guy and we had him going for like 15 mins. He thought we were radio presenters calling from england. was hilarious. most of the time we just used to ring wall marks and complain about the toys. was so funny.

sounds mature doesnt it. we used to do it like 18 months ago Sticking out tongue

Anyone know what the 2 squares on the F7 button do?
And also is there a programme for Mac that lets you view your bookmarks online?
for example if you cant get to your mac you can view your bookmarks

F7 switches between dual-display and video-mirroring modes

am i doing something wrong? when i open iChat i go to file>new chat then add an address of someone else using iChat, but nothing happens? nothing at all…
any help anyone?

not sure exactly what you're doing, but if you want to start a chat with someone add them to your Buddy List then double click on their name in the list to start the chat

Anyone know of a program for Mac like Flashget for the PC? It lets you copy multiple RapidShare links to download rather than clicking them individually.

If you can find a programme like that i will be impressed, i have searched everywhere since i got my mac and had no luck Sad
