There´s a bunch of ways. CineXPlayer is a popular way: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/cinexplayer-best-way-to-enjoy/id384098375?mt=8

AvPlayerHD is another one, VLC is out there if you jailbreak it. Plex is great to if you wanna stream you whole library on your computer to the iPad and then mirroring it to the ATV. Plex also let you acces friends plexlibrarys if given access.

But try out CineXPlaye, does what you asked for.

I work part-time for Apple, and sometimes when I do a demo for customers with the ATV, I take my private iPad, fire up plex, show them my 800+ movies and 2000+ tvshows neatly organized on the ipad, streamed from my iMac at home, and I show them my 5 colleagues plex library too. So about 5000 movies on my iPad. Start one, and I stream it to the ATV. Never fails to impress. Once sold 2500 iPads on the go that way (I work against business and school clients)

I imagine it was made in word originally, then saved as a pdf, then it was too big because of the images in the document.

Im not talking about sending it as a jpg, i'm talking about reducing the sizes of the jpgs in the original document, even if that is a pdf made in adobe, there is no need to put huge images in that when it will only be viewed on the A4 format.

All quartz filter is is a image reducing programe, so resampling to resize and re-encoding with a larger block size to reduce the size. re-encoding with larger blocks makes it look shit. you always want to re-sample to reduce the size.

im not going to drop a 20MByte plus D800 full frame shot into an A4 document for it to dynamically resize, when a sub 1 meg file resampled looks identical on the page width.

Thanks. I have CineXPlayer on my ipad already. So there is a not problem playing this through the latest Apple Tv?

Hmm. Good question. You could of course use mirroring, but you would get the black tabs on the side.. Dont know if the ATV picks upp cinexplayer as a videoplayer and stretch it out to fit the screen. Can try this at work tomorrow if you want..

Edit: It does, no probs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67VHhSOxD14

Thanks but that vid was made a year ago and not sure if new version of ipad and apple tv since then, as well as other updates, how rendered it impossible….

If it's not one of the new retina models then it's very easy to do.

No it's an old one. Is it something that's worth spending money on or should I just get the cheapest one? Apple wanted something like £80 for a gig but its on amazon for about £30. Thanks

You need to check it is compatible. Go to crucial.com and use their computer scanner which tells you the correct type…they're pretty cheap too.

Got the apple SSD in mine. Ace upgrade. It's much faster than a conventional HDD, but th main benefit for me is that it makes my MBP silent.

SSD will be more noticeable than RAM. Upped my RAM to 16GB but only really noticed improvement in daily tasks once I stuck a Crucial M4 512GB SSD in.

Some how lost my MacBook Pro charger last week, need to obtain one asap so wondered if someone on here had a spare to sell before I make the trip to the Apple store.
