Put an OCZ Vertex2 in my MBP a year or so ago, massive improvement in speed. Now takes 25 seconds to boot up, itunes opens in 1 bounce Cool

yeah man, ssd with an hdd instead of the cd drive to use as an external would be a great setup. can save p going for a smaller ssd then too. I think all of this plus updating my OS will give my mbp a new lease of life

do it man. even a clean install of a new OS (not upgrading through app store, just partitioning one of my externals and doing a clean install) breathed new life into my macbook. and now 4gb ram. warp speed.

Question from mrs on previous issue, getting stuck : How do i make my downloaded quarts filters appear in my ColorSync Utility or Preview in Macbook Lion. I have saved them in my Library as well as in my PDF services file, but they're still not appearing.

Is there a specialist mac forum that is good for tec issue ?

Edit: Too fast, saw you already had them in both places.. hmm.

Try this:

copy your filter from

/Users/YourName/Library/Filters/ (where i assume you put it?)

to /Library/PDF Services/ and see if that works.

Its a hidden folder, so do thisSticking out tongueress "Shift+Command+G" and type in "/Users/YOURNAME/Library/" in the path to be directed to the Library folder.

need a screen for a mac book air, currently just using hdmi to a TV and just use mirroring or use it like 2 screens and works fine. Basically, that TV is going soon so just need another screen to do the same job. i wouldn't even watch tv on the screen just use as a 2nd monitor. what are my options? is there a better alternate to buying another cheap TV to use as screen?

If you just want to use it as a 2nd screen buy a proper screen.

I recorded an interview with photo booth but it froze during recording so it had to be closed. I lost 2 hours of footage. Is there ANY way it still might be saved somewhere on my mac?
