Retina MBPs come with flash drives so can't be upgraded like SSDs, RAM can't be upgraded either.

owc has drive upgrades for the retinas but it is pretty pricey and might void the warranty.

spacebar has stopped working to play/pause songs on itunes. Instead the cursor defaults to the search bar in the top right so when i press spacebar it types a space into the search box. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have a late 2011 MBP, with 4GB Ram, I want to upgrade to 8GB, what do I need 2 4GBs? Something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/memory-upgrades-4GBx2-1333MHz-Macbook/dp/B004TQH6U8 ?

Best place to get it?

Cheers

I've just upped from 2GB RAM to 8GB. Cheapest price was Crucial's website, easy online tool that tells you what you need based on model etc- if you need it…

Who has a retina pro here? Still reading lots on the Apple discussion forums about screen lagging and severe delays in text entry within webpage text boxes etc.

Want to make the switch soon but nervous forking out so much for something that could be riddled with frustrating issues like this.

Phil: I used Crucial to upgrade mine to 8GB. There's a neat piece of software on their site that determines what you'll need.

I know but the optimist (or impatient!) in me was hoping it was exaggerated. No fixes from Apple have smoothed it out then?

Similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Wouldn't mount in finder, but I was able to salvage some stuff by:

Connecting the drive, go to disk utility and repair disk permissions. Leave it running overnight (took mine over 12hrs to repair/mount the broken drive) Used all the recovery programmes i could find and this was the only thing that worked in the end.
