As long as it is past 2011 with a thunderbolt port you can get an adapter for it. Not cheap if you want HD though IIRC.

Ah good news! Do you by any chance have a link of what one of the adaptors look like? If they're pricey I don't wana go and buy the wrong one. Will I just need to change display settings on the iMac when it's plugged in or will it recognise the PS3 automatically?

Will it be your main computer and what will you use it for mainly? If so the Pro, otherwise an Air.

I had the new Air before my Macbook Pro and hated it. Overheated really quick and annoying as hell having to plug in an external CD drive all the time

If you can wait, I'd wait a little while longer.
There is a good chance they will pull the plug on the MBP non retina model all together though.
I've been waiting bloody ages for an upgrade.

I've got a beginning 2008 white MacBook that needs replacement.
I've been waiting for a while the new MBP series, hope it's October!

At the same time now i'm a bit worried they might pull the plug on the non retina MBP, as i honestly don't care about those displays. This will almost certainly lead to an increase in prices.
Anyone heard anything about this?

I really like the flat iOs 7 look. Did some customizing on my iMac with Geektools and Candybar to get the same look. Know its not for everyone, but i like it.

try a pirate bay proxy and buy this cable (if your mac is 2010+) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6FT-Mini-Displayport-To-HDMI-ThunderBolt-Cable-Adapter-For-MacBook-Air-Pro-Gold-/400380465856
