That's pretty much embarassing for a 1000+ laptop. Will wait a little bit more then…

Mavericks has some nasty issues with disk utility, some horror stories out there.

Tried to cahnge the partition size ast night so I could clone accross to my new SSD, failed.

Luckily not destroyed, but have had to resort to a time machine backup onto the new SSD which will take ages.

Should have had a usb reovery stick to run disk utility from that, still fails from the recovery partition.

Free upgrades.. Sad

Mavericks has done nothing positive for me, I don't notice anything different other than it taking 30 seconds to attach a file in Mail, searching for stuff in Finder being much slower and my scanner no longer saving its scans.

The partypoker app is pretty decent and easy to use.

Recently noticed with iTunes ( Version 11.1.3 ) that every time i open it, it will be on top of anything else, including itunes own pop ups / dock. No option to change it in preferences either, anyone know a fix?

Does anyone know of any particularly nice Macbook cases/sleeves? I was fortunate enough to receive a new 13" MBP for Christmas and intend on keeping it in better condition than my previous 15" one, which ended up with all sorts of scratches and dents, and lost all of its rubber feet. Would like a simple veg tanned leather sleeve, but couldn't find anything on Etsy or with a Google search.

Incase branding is horrendous, and Sandqvist/Hardgraft are having a laugh with pricing. Best option I've found on Etsy is this or this. May end up plumping for one of them or continuing the hunt for a simple natural tanned leather number.

Spilt beer on my Macbook pro and it wont turn on now. Turned it upside down and left it powered off for a week but it wont do anything now. It was working but i turned it off through caution and now wont do anything. It is charging still though, so lights are on and no one is home.

What am I looking at?

Internals probably corroded. Take it to Apple and get an estimate for repair.

I might jsut right it off, are there people who buy damaged Macs for resale? its a MacbookPro 2011. Wondering if I can get a little cash and then go get an Air

exactly the same happened to mine. cost me £130 to fix from apple store.
