Depends on who you get, sometimes they will but other times they'll make you get a new appointment. Had both happen.

The new OS? If so, supposedly around late this year.

need to buy an external monitor for mac book pr0 - main consideration is price, needs to be decent enough to watch films etc on, but i'm not a gamer, i wouldn't use it for work etc, so can be basic - any recommendations? there are dell's for a couple of hundred quid which seem ok but seems there's a lot of choice and no real consensus at this end of the market.

If you aren't using it for work, just get the best/biggest one for the budget according to review ranking at amazon I reckon…

Quite a large selection on here, some 27" for below £200 too.

I'd personally recommend a Dell Ultrasharp, which is what I use. I've also read that Apple 27" displays share the same IPS panel as Dell's Ultrasharp models.

Don't know if this is worth recommending but i have mine hooked up to a sony 32 inch kdl tv, if you're just doing films that might be worth considering. someone might say otherwise though, maybe its a bad way of doing it

Smashed my iPad mini screen, only 6 months old, what do I do? A place down the road does screen replacements for 100 quid, is that my best bet?

Anyone seen/heard of an 'empty laptop' solution for a mac mini, ie. a keyboard/trackpad/monitor combo that you could just plug a mac mini into? I've not seen anything like it and a quick google came up with nada, other than using an old laptop. Tablet cases can have in-built keyboards, so it shouldn't be a step too far to add a basic monitor?

I'm a complete Mac noob and I can't play AVI on Quicktime. Whats the best way to go about resolving this for free?

Secondly, are there any reliable cheap VPN services for multi devices people on here use?

Get the divx plugin for quicktime, think that'll do it. VPN one click is proper reliable for me.

You should just be able to download the OS from the Mac App Store and do it that way.
