apple truly lost touch to their core userbase and what they really need…maybe out of fear of being user unfriendly to the mass market?
seriously consider a change to windows after almost 15 years, never thought this was possible.
that surface studio thing looks great, tried out one of those Surface Pros at a friend and they are amazing…u can't even compare these things to a ipad.

Got a surface pro on the way this week, mrs wanted an iPad Pro but surface does so much more, plus can stick tones of media on a pen drive.

Happened 6-7 years ago when they abandoned Final Cut Pro and released the joke program Final Cut X to
flirt with the million Imovie users and abandoned the professionals that had been loyal users for decades,
dick move to say the least, after that I hate everything with Apple (Still use it though with work)

not sure if u can generalize that swede.
the 'problem' with everything nice or 'expensive' is that u have to take care for it.and i guess people treat a 500 quid medion laptop differently, than a 2k macbook pro. The overall build quality of macs is of course better, but the pricepoint is on a whole different level so u can't really compare. Just checked out some windows based laptops/computers on a store nearby and i have to admit that all of them looked or felt like shit. Laughing out loud (surface excluded…)
i didn't even found some good locking clean case to built one by myself…
they all look like futuristic black/red colored robot machines.

Macs last economically longer than PCs - you can easily sell a run down 3Y old macbook for some cash, good luck with your 3 year old Lenovo or Acer. But then again the average macbook is well over 1K, and how much would the regular PC be - maybe half of that?

Bought an 800 quid dell five years ago, still running and I've maxed out the ram and put ssds in…actually tempted to get a top spec 13 inch mid 2012 MacBook Pro second hand and do the same with that, because the prices are currently insane on everything ATM

I bought that Mac with the intention of doing the exact same thing, but still haven't done it as works perfectly fine after 2.5 years. Maxed out ram, and that was it.
A friend already did it, and it's like a brand new laptop once you put in SSD and some ram if needed.
Things started putting me off when they forced you to buy the retina display on the 13 inches MacBook Pro, which imho, is absolutely pointless, in particular on such a small screen.

Anyone got the MacBook 12"? Worth the money? Looking for something light just for browsing in front of the tv, no heavy applications,, don't want a tablet. Been looking at ultra books and the dell xps13 looks decent but tempted to try Mac OS for once.

Guy in store admitted it was just an iPad with a keyboard.

Business grade VAIOs don't break. Actually most business market windows laptops are robust.

VAIO is basically the Empire and Apple is the rebel alliance. Everyone thinks the rebels are good but the Imperials always looked cooler. Plus the rebels murdered thousands of innocent contractors.
