A cheaper off brand charger would have served you just as well I think. Have had my fair share of chargers and even the real apple ones break down in 1.5-2 years.

too right, with 3 kids and other stupid hangers-on, my cables last no time, this has been a good MBP lead so far. (they do the 85W version as well)

I just resent paying someone else for something I can do myself. I dunno about you but I really don't find following a guide and undoing some screws that challenging at all

plus it is a fucking inconvenience dropping them to a shop and being without phone/laptop for a few days. doing it yourself is just so much better

The only reason I say that is because does it not bother you having Apple products full of unofficial parts? I think it would bother me, I'm not totally convinced on the DIY ethos when you fixed your iPhone yourself and the home button stopped working…

worrying about unoffical parts Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud its not a fucking rolex. my mac and my iphone are work/communication tools, no one gives a fuck if it has a 3rd party battery. I have never had a problem with an apple part supplied by ifixit, one of the largest 3rd party suppliers in the world (ifixit is valued at $21M). you are just being bent over by apple, believing all this shite about "official" parts Laughing out loud there are plenty of suppliers with high quality components

the home button worked fine on the iphone, just not the touch ID (the touch ID chips are encrypted by apple and can only be replaced by them). if I had your attitude I probably would have paid apple £80 to fix my phone, only to sell it for £200 a few months later. I just bought a new home button for £3.95 and replaced it myself and lived without touch ID, before selling it for £200……. each to their own though i guess

got some new wireless headphones (AKG N60NC) and when I am listening on my iphone it shows how much battery is left in the status bar. how do I look at this on my mac? surely the headphones are sending some bluetooth signal to my iphone regarding battery level - surely my mac can receive the same?

hoping someone is able to assist me here as I can't seem to find an alternative on google.
i need to be able to annotate photos whilst recording my screen for work but can't seem to find any alternative other than buying an iPad pro and apple pen. don't really fancy this option as it'll set me back the best part of a grand.

anyone have any alternative suggestions?

Off to nyc next week, worth getting an 8 while I’m there or will they go down in price at the end of the year?

12th of September new iPhones will be announced, so the 8 might drop in price after that.
