never come across ext files before, but you could try iSquint, it seems to cover most video file types http://www.isquint.org/

Don't quote me. Laughing out loud

I just don't remember having to do anything special to play them. I would try but I lost my 8800 the other day sorry.

you can't put it to sleep but you can start up the screen saver if you want. if you just leave it the screen will go black anyway after a few minutes (depending on your settings) and keep will downloading

Connected my external HD but wont let me copy or drag and drop files or folders onto it from my mac, it's recognising it but 'apple key + c/v' wont work, nor is the 'paste' icon clickable in the edit menu!!

you don't use 'copy' or 'paste' - just drag the files/folders over in finder?

weird - I've just been backing up - easiest is to have 2 finder windows open - one with your internal HD highlighted with whatver you want to copy, the other with the external HD, like this, where I dragged 'Pictures' from one to the other:

What's the deal with the harddrive you are copying to?
Was it being used by a PC? Is it formatted for Mac?
