Balfour beatty one to watch this week. Poised to possibly reintroduce a dividend following a pretty awful last few years. If it does the price should raise 5+%. Results are on Wednesday so in today is usually the best bet and something always leaks the day before. Sunday Times reckons it is on the turn around but it is still an inherently risky company at the moment.

Oil going nowhere quick. I work in the industry and it's all cut's and doom and gloom just now. Good time to buy if you are patient though. Honestly don't think the industry will go anywhere until around 2020. The Saudi's are suffering just now but can hold on another couple of years at this current price. Iran will not reduce their output since having the sanctions lifted. It's all a ploy of the Americans to make the Saudi's suffer seeing how America has a diverse economy compared to Saudi the Yanks can play the long game and wait it out.

Long on GBP/USD today after flash crash dropped it beyond 31 year low. People selling just because Francois Hollande is saying negotiations on brexit will be hard, seems crazy to me, of course they will be hard.

rumour is it being an algo fault, then all other followed suit thus the dramatic drop.

FT wrote: Traders said the tough stance taken over Brexit negotiations by Fran├žois Hollande, reported by the Financial Times, could have triggered the move. Many algorithmic traders include tracking news websites in their systems. The FT story was first published the same minute as the move lower began.

Hearing good things on shire and hammerson. British Land was tipped a couple of weeks back in a few of the papers then subsequently took a hit, but fundementals stil seem good. Very spikey moves at the moment thought for anything commercial property related so a bit of luck really.

Sold CCXI for 25% gains, plus extra from the pound tanking. Also got out of the FTSE100 index I was in for a pitiful 4% over 2 and a half years, failing to beat inflation. Holding SGYP for the buyout up 70% atm for me; more when GBP/USD rate changes are taken into account. Looking into medical marijuana tickers.

Any thoughts on whether GBP is going to drop further against the dollar? I need to transfer money and I'm reluctant in case we're set for another drop.

I think it isnt going to drop any further and stay lower, but there will definately be some movements. I think it will settle back at 1.30 or so 8cent up from current for the forseeable.

Remember everyone saying when oil was at $30 that it was going to be going down to $15. Most journo's only report on the negatives and plenty of people follow. Oil has now been back up to $55 recently and has settled in a $43-55 range.

That said, I could be completely wrong and the pound could be worth the same as a grain of rice next year!
