pops, loads of companies make downdraft extractors and they all look more or less the same, siemens, aeg, caple etc etc..should be able to get them at loads of places.

Pops don't expect a downdraft extractor to be much use - nice kitchen gadget but a waste of time at actually extracting (unless they have significantly improved since I looked at them 12 months ago).

not sure on the best line of search for that, pops might know, maybe try cradle coffee table/mid cent etc. I suppose you could get a custom made one to your own specs, exact size, finish etc. Who was the furniture maker seenmy used for his kitchen table? Maybe he could do something similair with a uniform rounded top, different wood and cradle like base? looks nice.
