Long story short if you want aluminium windows almost everyone gets them from smartUK
They fabricate the profiles and then smaller companies will make them into shape and fit the glass in
Smart supply most of the market and have long lead times
I got screwed using a middle man so best bet is to go direct or use a supplier with a good contact at smart
Not cheap either and to be honest apart from picking my own RAL colour I'm not sure of the value over uPVC
Can anyone shed some light?
If you want 7016 grey which everyone has most people keep the profiles in stock but I wanted a specific colour so it took ages

Cheers for that, will keep in mind!

Shields, check out the first page of this thread, there's a nice little list on there. I'd recommend designmilk from those, personally.
Also remodelista.com is updated frequently and covers a range of tastes.
Also dezeen.com for wider ranging design stuff (as in, not just limited to interiors).
The design files (google it) is an Aussie interior site which is quite good. Also, yellowtrace.au is another Aussie one which I really, really like.

I have vitra dsr's I'd like to get repainted. Is it something I should try to do on my own or should I just simply outsource it? What worries me is how time consuming it would be and what sort of materials should I use if I decided to do it my self? Does anyone have any experience of this or from similar projects?

Re Painted? I'm no expert but I wouldn't recommend painting a plastic chair.

How come painting a plastic chair would be a bad idea? Aren't these things restored and repainted rather often?

Any sparks here? Want to fit a new ceiling light and need to get rid of the old round fitting. Can I connect the new light to the red & black wires with a normal connector block?

Sorry if obvious question, I'm fucking useless at DIY Laughing out loud
