Picked this book up today. Nice photographic study of interiors of the different types of flats . Would recommend for any fans of the iconic Barbican.

I think someone on here knows a lot about boilers. Is £1860 a good (installed) price for a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 29CDi Classic combi boiler with Wave smart control?

Depends. Are they supplying the boiler? Are they powerflushing your system? Are they fitting an inline scale reducer and also a magnaclean? How many days they say they can do it in? Shoot me a PM if you want any help

Thanks. They'd be supplying the boiler, yes. Seems to include a magnetic filter and poweflush. No mention of time on their website. Will give them and a couple of others a ring tomorrow.

Any opinions generally on specific boilers and brands? It's for an 80 square metre 2 bedroom flat with 6 radiators which will eventually have a mixer shower.

That's a really good price - Worcester Bosch 29Cdi is perfect - they are the best boilers out there ATM. No alternative IMO. Ask how much they will do it for cash. Could get them down even more.

Any opinions on Worcester's Wave system versus Nest?

Nest looks better to me as it seems that the product range of connected devices will expand in the future.

Anyone got a boiling water tap? Sure I read about a few folk on here bigging them up but any views on the best one to get?

Quooker, I loveit, sceptical at first but worth the dough, especially if have little uns needing boiled and sterilised shite all the time or if you cook a fair bit,I use it most days when boiling veg/rice etc as its just easier

its the only one that has actually boiling water (99.99 degrees)

don't get the hot and cold one together as if it goes tits you have no water running at all in kitchen, just my view

Nice one Fuzzy - so you have two taps in the kitchen…did you try and match the style of the Quooker one? Can't find a good brand of tap that would sit next to the Quooker styles without looking out of place.

is the ikea komplement range still the best diy option for shelving out wardrobes?

renovating my gaff at the moment and have a couple of inbuilt wardrobes that need to be kitted out on the inside, as well as new doors.

pics below to make up for my hash of a description.

why would the tap stop working just because the boiling part broke? I have the combo one, and it works like a normal tap,so I can't really see the issue you are concerned about, the boiling part plays no part in the function of the regular tap as it has a separate control (well at least on mine)

Not strictly an interiors question question but don't know where else this should go. We got burgled at the start of the week so we need to beef up security and make out house a less easy target. One of he things I want to do, is put some metal railings along the top of the fence at the bottom of the garden as this is where I think the fuckers got into the garden to break in, but I don't know where I would find this sort of thing, would it be available at places like B&Q/ Homebase/ Jewsons etc or do I need to go to more specialist places?
