Wanted to re-do all our windows with roman blinds but we've got a bay at the front and its looking pricey/bit of a fuss. Currently, we have Venetian blinds up but they're getting tatty.

Any other options? Victorian terrace, open to doing curtains but seems a bit heavy. Our house is fairly open and bright (white floorboards downstairs and sisal carpets upstairs.

window boards? I wish i had done window boards in mine rather than shutters, obviously this only really gives you light and dark options though

^ Yeah, thought about that. Had someone over to measure for shutters today, but like the idea of window boards. Just liked how ‘comfy’ some big drapy roman blinds would make the place.

What are window boards and why do you wish you got them over shutters?
I'm getting measured up for shutters this week.

i can't really find a great pic, but they are just folding panels really, i just like the simplicity and if I did my place again this is what I would have had done and fitted to the windows. i have sandersons shutters and while they are quite good quality I felt their service left a fair bit to be desired and their idea of bespoke was not in my opinion bespoke at all… for the money I expected a bespoke fit to my windows not some installer filling big gaps full of chaulk ….

Ah ok I know what you mean now. Was it Thomas Sanderson you used? I've heard horror stories about them giving it the proper hard sell like the old double glazing salesmen, I once had to physically kick one of those cunts out of my house Laughing out loud

yep, I would not use again, but thats what you learn house needed everything when we started and it was trying to get everything done with very limited knowledge of suppliers/options etc, saying that they are one of the first things people comment on but the experience with them left a sour taste so ive never really loved them, but they cost to much to rip out and start again…

How much money did they gift you to get you "on the property ladder"?

My Dad can, but he won't. Because life sucks.

What did Ralph Lauren call this pattern on the chair? I'm trying to track down the blanket with it.
