traffic cones and road signs don't count as interior design Cool
Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Never understood why people have those in their rooms. Why would you want some grubby sign that's been out on the street?

oi i have a wet floor sign from a bulgarian Subway in my room and its a cracking souvenir thank you very much!

yes because if you a refurb or new build, modern, minimal spaces are easy clean, excellent storage, etc and people want decluttered spaces these days.

i would say older houses are a different bag though as they need a different approach

That's a bit different to your local building site's 'BUILDING SITE' sign though.

Does anyone know where I can get a rug similar to this Pendleton one for a more reasonable price?

^

try persian gabbeh rugs which can be similair, some crpa but some are along those lines and v nice for that kind of style - all trad hand made carpets. Alt email that pic to a few large uk rug dealers and they should be able to get you something. Try the big dept stores too as they have great buyers for these kinds of things and there are a few importer warehouses where you may be able to go along. Don't muck about with their sales people try and email their head offices. Unfortunately I can't remember any of their names (importers).

finally the chair turned up - been waiting for this as it was put in storage. sadly not branded herman miller but a fibre glass version from Modernica LA - it looks reasonably old close up though, not as shiny as photo suggests. can't grumble it was for nowt.

also picked up another vintage evertaut stool for an ebay bargain (background) - the seller didn't know anything about it.

experiencing an extreme eames/mcm backlash atm, think in the last one or two years at least a third of the people in my neighborhood and at work have been buying vitra shells and hang-it-alls like theres no tomorrow.. slowly trying to replace most eames/mcm besides a few rare/expensive/ugly vintage pieces i know are to rich/rare for these barbarians to consider .. gonna concentrate on other stuff now, couple recent cops

i found mine on ebay,I had seen a few sets up for around the 500 mark, they do pop up for a round the 100 mark on ebay if you search for a bit, it took me a month or so of searchs, theres also a furniture fair in london coming up at lords cricket ground I think in may which might be a good place although I imagine prices will be high there

You've got to give it to Margaret Howell up there on her sofa - that brand was doing the authentic/minimal clothing thing before all the others.
