are they plastic? i'm not sure about having them in the house but they would look great in the garden, do you reckon you could leave them out or would they blow away?

Yes, they are plastic and are intended for the garden.. They are surprisingly solid, so don't think they will blow away..

Busted. Well she's an ex but we're still good friends. Just want a gift to say congratulations and to wish her luck in her new venture. Flowers and cupcakes, food baskets etc were all done to death when we were together. Anyway back to the question in hand, as said she's a very practical person, so want to get her something she'll find "useful". Even if it's telling the time and watching it tick away sitting at her desk
Gave my parents those Grand Designs tickets and they bought these chairs there:

Helped my dad put them together today, I'm not convinced yet..

Odd request. A good friend of mine is moving into a new office space as she's just setup a creative design company. I want to get her something for her desk. I'm thinking a clock, as she's a very "practical" person, and probably would appreciate something like that, compared to say an ornament, or a picture frame.
Any ideas? Budget is around £200. Was looking at what there is on Nest and these caught my eye..

But I want something a a little less mass manufactured and something more unique?

£200 for a desk ornament, for a good friend, for no REAL reason.
