You're probably bored and looking for stuff to buy.

Honestly, that arch looks great unfilled. Maybe place the plant more central.

Was just gonna say the same thing, unless you really need it for storage.

Out of interest, where'd you get the rug from?

I like it as it is but we do really need the storage, got tones of books nowhere to put them. Reckon a glass cabinet with a mixture of books and a few nick nacks would look better than a solid cabinet. I had a fitted cabinet made for the alcove at the other side of the fireplace so want to do something different in the arch, I do intend putting some shelves in the alcove eventually.
Poor pic but you get the idea
The crap on the fireplace including the plant doesn't usually live there Laughing out loud

I think vitsoe would be a better bet for those alcoves

I don't agree I do like Vitsoe but it looks better in modern or mid century houses. I saw a pic of it in an arch full of books and it didn't look great.

This is an old pic of mine, it looks different now but personally I like the contrast between the period features and vitsoe.

Had some v cheap scaffolding board shelves made for my alcoves for books - why not just put up some shelves you like? Having a unit like that in the archive won't look good imo, especially with the flat top in the round alcove.

Nice fireplace by the way, those tiles OG?

Looks great, mines a repro it's actually a gas fire, muppets that lived here years ago modernised it [face-palm] I think the people that we bought it off put this one in, it's not what I would have done but it will do for now.

This is the best I've found so far and the sizing is good 1530,90,46 but it's £1300 and maybe a touch deep.

It's all subjective but I was thinking something like a Bauhaus style tubular steel shelf would look decent or something which was arched (https://www.sightunseen.com/2019/03/kin-and-company-new-collection-2019-patina/) then found the below, something with cleaner lines to match the arch and compliment the large mirror which could work nice. It's open with no glass so it may not work for you, dimensions seem good pending height (looks like it could be altered).

for what its worth Id just mirror the built in you have on the other side, I think if you put a non custom made unit in that space with the arch top it will always look cramped and awkward. mirroring the unit will give symmetry and then you have a surface you can place object/objects on as you please and the arch will frame nicely in my opinion.

I love vitsoe but I also dont think it will work in that space, as the arch makes it feel like a feature, which its not really supposed to be.

I think seenmy is right, unit at the bottom to mirror the other side with some shelving above it

Their selection is brilliant, loving loads of these.

What’s the damage on a 6ft x 4ft? forvezample.

They won’t be cheap, Emily’shouse sell similar and they tend to be around the £1k mark

They source them to order usually but they do sometimes carry stock. From what I can gather she is Moroccan but lives here and here parents live in Morocco and ship them over for her.
Prices are really good imo, on the standard Beni's
Mediums roughly 240 x150 are £350
Large roughly 200 x 300 £450
Xl 330 x 240 £550
