Anyone on here buy any art?

There are a couple of pieces I want from the Connor Brothers, can anyone point me in the right direction of where to source and purchase from?

Got mine through maddox gallery. They released a print through a tier system, first group of 20 or whatever is £600 then gets more and more from then onwards. I managed to get in early for £600 but it all seemed like a bit of a con. Bear in mind framing too, mine cost £300 to frame

You could try looking in Artsy. Will have all the galleries that represent them worldwide. Best thing to do is get a good relationship with a gallery. You’ll then be on a list and will have priority over anyone else etc

I’ve bought a lot from Cristea Roberts (formally Alan Cristea). They know what I have already, know the artists they represent that I like and I get emails fairly often updating me on what they’re up to etc

I buy some bits. UAA is good for general knowledge but it’s very Banksy obsessed which grated for me as I really don’t like his art, generally.

For purchasing, I would just follow artists you enjoy on IG and then see when they release a print then see which gallery or partner it’s with and buy at Source.

It’s very like the trainer game. Artsy, Paddle 8 and then are like the Stock X of art and you won’t get a good deal.

Make sure if it’s an expensive print that you get it framed professionally and consider art/UV glass

Cheers for the info. Hopefully after all this calms down I’ll pop in to a few galleries.

Brian - mind elaborating as to why?

And can anyone recommend any artists of a similar style?

This is what I was after, literally saw it in a restaurant somewhere in London and thought I’d try find it, but it looks like the same print in three different galleries with very large price differences.

Two questions, why the huge difference in price, and secondly, would this have originally sold for £600 then and this is the now inflated resale price?

Just different flip prices, some more optimistic prices than others. Yes, this is standard buying through these kind of intermediaries.

Tate award auction coming up has a lot of CB in it. Have a look there.

Didn't know where else to post this - anyone seen any nice glass straws? Found these from Hay but want to have a look around at some other options: https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/hay-sip-glass-straws-pack-of-six_400-3004338-507807/

You can use cedar blocks, they ward off moths

Finally received my pp225 (it was an in stock sale). I was expecting the cushion to be darker/black but it looks good IRL.

it is actually very functional - I also have a CH25 and an eames lounge+ottoman, and the pp225 is much better/comfortable to read a book or relax.
