just lug the 3G in and sync it. Make sure everything is set on the sync tab.
then plug int he new 4G and sync again with every set on the sync tab.

the format of the txt messages archive is different.
the killer was on a 3G running iOS 4 when you have thousands of txts backed up in the phone.

Mines been fine so far, but I'll bear it in mind if I think it's slow and just do a full restore and no backup
With the 3G plugged in, right click on it in iTunes and click on back up. Then plug the iPhone 4 in and do a restore… After it's finished, it will ask to restore from backup… Chose the one you did on 3G. That's what j did and everything is on my new phone. Oh, make sure both phones have same version of software
right i'm on my 3rd iphone 4 i'll not go into why but when i connected the first one to my computer it asked if i wanted to transfer the data from my old iphone and it automatically sinced every thing from my 3g , as did the second, but when i plugged the new one in it didn't so i've done it all myself but i seem to of lost all the texts which i can live with but it won't sinc all the movies i had on before the only 2 it's put or are that daisy lowe gq (hd) photo shoot thing and an episode of family guy that i bought off i tunes, the other films are all crap copies but i had them on all the other phones no problem! as far as i know i've tried all the deferent settings and they still wont go on it's doing my nut in

i didn't realise that i had put the films in a play list and didn't have them checked of
