I think he said he has some discount through work or something? Can vouch for him - bought some B&W headphones directly from the retailer through him, all brand new, comes with warranty, etc.

Believe he's got a few people on here iPhones, too.

Sorry this is an ipad question, after a new ipad that has a lot of storage to watch films on while on holiday, they are a lot cheaper brand new on ebay rather than the apple store, the sellers have great feedback so I'm wondering what are the possible drawbacks? I'm thinking grey imports with no guarantee but that is pure uninformed guesswork, any ideas?

yep the manufacturer's warranty will only be active 1 year from the point they bought the ipad from an apple wholesaler.. however, ebay/paypal is so geared towards the buyer if you had any issues you would be able to get a refund easily

Cheers swede, that's making me think why wouldn't I buy off ebay now and save £100 at least.

Warranty is valid from when the iPad is activated so as long as it's sealed you'll get a year.
Need to be a little careful if you get a 4G version form a private seller as could be a contract one and get cancelled if they stop paying. Non-4G wouldn't have an issue though.

If seller will give you serial: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

Alternatively, ask them to put it in (so they can blur it) and send you a screenshot of the warranty

Anyone purchased an 8 recently? Cheapest place?

Edit: 'WowCamera' seems to be one of the cheapest finds for others looking.

Might be of interest to some..

Replaced my own iphone SE battery a few days ago with the ifixit toolkit. It's not super hard but there are some things that take a lot of time to fix if you fuck it up.
Battery life improved greatly BUT you can't turn off the throttling anymore in the settings as the iPhone doesn't recognize it. Below 5% it cripples itself..

E.U. regulation (not sure how this is in the UK now) requires two years of warranty. I've worked at Apples customer service for 8 months and although they just state 1 year, it's illegal and if a customer presses us we have to fix it. Absolute cunts but they get away with it most of the time.

My SE lock/power button has stopped working and it's been doing that flashing apple icon when trying to power off/restart. Have updated to ios 11 and restored to factory settings. No change.
Got it from three mobile just short of two years ago. Best to take to apple store?
