I thought O2 customer service was excellent and they didn't mess me around when I left. Bought my latest phone outright and switched to Giffgaff. Am only paying £10 a month and not had any problems at all.

isn't the internet speed throttled on giffgaff? i remember reading somewhere it was a lot slower than being on o2 even though they're effectively on their network.

My 3G is always quick on Giffgaff. Seems the same as when I was on O2.

2.3Mbps download 1.59Mbps upload in Herts just now on giffgaff. No idea if that's good or not.

Something i always found weird is I get 4 or 5 (full) bars of signal with 3G turned off. With it on I go down to 2 or 1 Puzzled

If anyone is a low usage user then take a look at Ovivo's freedom plan. A one off payment of £20 and you get 150 mins, 250 texts and 500mb of internet. http://ovivomobile.com/

would stay with 02 if I could but there's no 3G at all where I am and pretty much none all the way into work on the train Sad Full EE 3G signal though
got through after half an hour today & woman was pretty sound - good service for such a busy day

No 3 network coverage in my area so I am going to have to stick with O2 / giffgaff.

Can't decide weather or not to buy sim free and go giffgaff or just to sign up to another 24 months with O2, what am I looking at saving if I just buy the blower? (32GB 5S)

Not sure if relevant but just took sim only with virgin (uses EE network)
For £15 a month you get unlimited calls texts and data.
30 day rolling contact so can be cancelled if shit.
They will send you micro or nano sim depending on iPhone model
Obviously you don't get a handset so only useful if other hype munchers like me have bought their iPhone outright.

Think this was £47/£52 a month +£150 for the handset. Seemed expensive when i went in today so will just buy a 5s outright and a sim card job for £26 a month

San if you're going the sim free route you might be better of with a three sim 15 notes every 30 days 300 mins, 3000 sms, unlimited data and once they get 4g up you'll be bumped to that with no extra cost.

They only do standard or micro on their website? I guess you could cut either down to a nano.
