Japonica Market is good to go and cleared for Mercari.jp ops!
My package of six Masterpieces from various sources including Mercari.jp. arrived today. Best packed box I've ever seen from a proxy. Low fees, no bullshit, no signup email text system. I fucking like it.
And they seem to be the only proxy that will touch Mercari.
Great stuff. Recommended.

FromJapan is good, their fees seem to have gone up a bit recently and the website isn't very intuitive though.

I know it moved from the 5% system usage to a two fee structure. 300 yen (£2) for their basic fee or 700 yen (£5) for their advanced one with protection, per order. Doesn't seem much to pay especially when you consider you don't have to pay PayPal or Credit Card fees when paying for the order and shipping. The fee is almost nominal when the item is over £100.
I've found it really good when they run their 10% off Rakuten orders. You can save quite a bit, especially if the items you're purchasing are all from a single Rakuten seller as you only end up paying one fee.

Japonica Market when they aren't inundated. Because they're the best, most flexible, lowest fees, lowest bullshit. All done over email.
Yes, motherfuckers, your hero, MilSpex is officially endorsing Japonica Market. Be advised.

Not the cheapest when they charge you a PayPal fee on top of their commission fee.
Fromjapan still works out way cheaper, 300/700 Yen + cost of item + domestic shipping + International shipping (which can be 3/5/10% discounted) = total you pay.
No PayPal fee "bullshit".
Website isn't also that bad to use, paste the Rakuten link, YJP auction ID or webstore link, in the search bar at the top, hit go and it brings up an order page. Can't get easier than that!

Anyone have a list of Rakuten sellers? Sellers you've bought from before, sell good stock etc.

How do people not end up getting stung by customs when ordering from fromjapan?
I used the send as a gift alternative but had to pay a custom fee anyways.
