Haydn wrote: I quite fancied watching A History Of Violence, was that any good? Just looked up that Hidalgo on imdb and i might give that a watch. Just found out that Mortenson is almost 50!

Thats Cronenberg though - it's not so much whats happening, its what might happen. Like with Eastern Promises, there wasnt that much violence, but there was a always a prickly threat of violence - which I feel has more impact.
It's like how worrying all week that you're gonna get punched in the face is worse than just getting punched in the face.

@ Haydn; History of Violence is an outstanding film IMO. Hidalgo is okay, I think I have it lying around somewhere if you dont fancy renting it.

Three Extremes - Not bad. I thought "Dumplings" was the best followed by "Box" and "Cut". Wouldn't mind seeing the full 90min of "Dumplings". Actually that one made me squirm the most out of all three, the sound made it bad I reckon… also leaves a lot to your imagination. Takashi's "Box" was good, surreal as usual, no surprise there and is rather open to interpretation, especially the ending. "Cut" was certainly the funny one out of the pack and rather beautifully filmed. Can any one shed any light why Three Extremes 2 was dated 2 years before Three Extremes?

When I first got 3 Extremes a few years ago I watched it with my then bird, who found 'Box', "extremely boring", and accused me of watching it only because it "has chinkies in it".

Went to see Death At A Funeral last night.

It was alright.

Quite funny.

Standard mildly funny mediocre date film.

Wedding Crashers… Don't do it, its terrible.

The references to the deranged hysteric virgin was amusing though.

Spiderman 3. Finally got round to watch it, and it's as disappointing as people have said. Great action as usual, but my God, it's tipped over the edge into cornball, and cheese. I wanted to punch Maguire's face in more than cheer him on, and Dunst looks more and more smackhead in the role of MJ.

Hope they keep making the films though, as the franchise has got the most kinetic action in recent films.

The cliche ending killed it for me though thats a nod to Bram Stoker's Dracula. However, its not a bad film but kind of dated for me.
