watched the last kiss a couple of nites ago.
word of warning folks, never watch a film about infidelity with an ex who split up with you due to her not trusting you over the very issues this film is about.. uncomfortable isn't the word.

regardless of that, as much as i like zach braff and wanted to like this film, its pretty average at best.. all a little obnoxious if truth be known.

Firstly Bales ludicrous accent. It seems Dick Van Dyke is now a tutor in accents.
Bale is one of the best actors of his generation, he morphs into parts superbly. I just dont know what happened, his performance seems rushed for want of a better phrase. I think Darko Pancev mention this film was Nolans stop gap between Batmans but on inspection id say it was Bales.
Secondly Nolan took creative license over the book, rightly so considering his talents as a writer with his brother(i think its his bro he works with) but i much preferred both the story telling and the rivalry of the book.
Bare in mind though this doesnt take anything away from the film which is brilliantly crafted as you would expect from the creator of memento.
Thirdly Scarlett Johansson is turning into a walking pair of tits. The emporers got a peroxide hair job as well as some new clothes.
The days of Girl with a Pearl Earing and LIT are long gone in my eyes. She's had two great supporting roles in this and the black dahlia and shes been a donkey in both. She peaked imo.
All in all like i say it really was a good film, Piper Perabo is delicious onscreen. Good performances from Andy Serkis(future Oscar winner imo) , Caine and the bird who plays Bordens wife. id say 7.5 out of 10.

i wasn't sure about this one, but 7.5 seems good enough for me so i'll add it to the list. SJ is incredibly overrated, IMO and it's clips of her role in prestige that have stopped me watching it so far.

will give it a whirl though, ty for rating mob.

watch the Illusionist first,
it will make the Prestige seem like a 10.

Just finished watching Resident Evil: Apocalypse, was quite all right for a no brainer film, the story was quite amusing, same with the action scenes. Mila was looking pretty fine, so I'll be sure to watch Ultraviolet later today.

Oh and roll on Resident Evil: Extinction.

mob you though the prestige was that good? i thought it was a bit of a mish-mash and all over the place, saving grace was the ending which was quite cleverly thought out and saved the film for me.

was meant to see babel tonight/last night but i wasnt ready in time, in the end we so smokin' aces. very shit film lol. think im seeing blood diamond on saturday night im looking forward to it, really getting into films at the moment.

Babel was good, a bit hard to follow, but good nonetheless.

Yeah the prestige was that good imo. Nothing spectacular but the standout performances and the story warranted it.
Hated Babel. No doubt it will pick up the best film oscar though.

Puzzled Laughing out loud

watched eternal sunshine of a spotless mind last night
- havent made my mind up on it yet, cant even work out what the morale of the story is???? left me thinking about an old relationship i had which is perhaps a good sign. disappearing scenes started to annoy me after a while, wish that bit was shorter. soundtrack was perfect, esp song at the end. will watch again i think.

i think its one of them films that every person takes something different from

ive seen it a few times and still cant make my mind up as to what it's "really" about
