yeah, i meant the carpenter one. sorry. i know the old one.
i did mention 'the thing' quite alot in the old thread with no responses.
i'd rather pay to go to the cinema and watch it there, judge for myself. saying you've read a bad review is a cop out.
i went to see the carpenter version again at the cinema recently on a double bill with troll hunter.

The Thing(2011), went into it without reading reviews and under the impression it was a prequel. Was really disappointing imo,
It's a prequel in the loosest sense of the word, they pay homage to the original in almost every single scene so it's essentially a remake. It is to the 1982 film what 'Daylight' is to the 'Poseidon Adventure'. The CGI effects are terrible as well, pretty embarrassing when can't even better the effects of a 30 year old movie.

Any screeners for Tinker Tailor… yet?

anyone see that dragonfly with kevin costner on bbc the other night. not my sort of film usually but i really enjoyed it.
i reckon them pics of the lost tribe in the papers last year were old stills from that film, serious as well.
