was so fucking close to becoming a classic in the heady heights of pulp fiction. but it didnt quite make it down to a couple of cheesey scenes like the shagging the bird in front of the boyfriend etc that were just there to fill in the gaps of a cult film, but didnt actually work.
was the last bit a crack enduced dream by the way, when his life went all brillaint and he become a bad captian and won the bet?
and then when it went back to him nicking nightclubbers gear again was actually the real and true ending?

The original or remake? Hated the remake. Hate cage though.

Thought it was awful. Borderline unwatchable…can't imagine noble liking the remake.

I liked the remake of Bad Lieutenant…. especially the surreal little bits with the alligators/lizards and cage generally hamming it up

The Eagle : Didnt expect to like this and duly hated it more than expected, cant stand Jamie Bell and Channing Tatum cant act for shit
horribly miscast imo… best thing about it is the setting.
Super 8 : Good fun, reminded me of the goonies/ET, proper sunday afternoon film
Crazy Stupid Love : Best film i've seen in a long time. Recommended to anyone/everyone.

Have Tree of Life and Melancholia to watch this week

Oh and i just got around to watching the first season of the Wire, heard a rumour Diana makes a cameo in the second season Cool

I enjoyed Bad Lieutenant, normally hate Cage as well.

Haywire is one of the worst films I've ever seen, we were pretty tempted to walk out half way through but thought we'd persevere - regretted it.

^ one guy went into seizures watching it and his gurlfriend puked up? Some elaborate marketing right there!
Plot sounds like a Japanese horror movie. I'm intrigued.

Bullheads great, should win the foreign oscar over A Separation. Although The Yellow Sea was better than them both. Korean films are strangely ignored by the oscars.
Crazy Stupid Love is not the sort of thing i'd normally watch but i enjoyed it.

Last week or so:

The Artist: Really liked this, watched it at home which I really don't like doing because I get distracted really easily. Very good from start to finish.

The Descendants: Was looking forward to seeing this but wasn't impressed so much. I liked it, but thought it went on for about 20 minutes too long.

The Help: Octavia Spencer played a very good part in this, thought her performance was better than Viola Davis. Great film though.

The Grey- Not bad, a little disappointing, as i was quite looking forward to watching it. More of a rental film rather than a must see cinema job.
