Lol at this thread

Thought Guardians of the galaxy was very average, good tunes and it was amusing but it dragged and I found the characters annoying rather than funny

Watched catch 22 last night, you lot would have fun arguing about that Laughing out loud

IDK whether I think this is the GOAT film trailer or some sans self-awareness satire of Malick-type high-art American cinema. Terrence Malick is legit excellent tho, so I'm hyped.

Heaps of these 'famous and rich going wild' kind of films being made the last few years.

Will still go and watch it though. Christian Bale is class.

the interview. it is utter wank, don't waste your time, even the curious among you… for a film that's touted as comedy there's not one funny bit in it. it looks like its not finished, like they had plenty to polish up on & edit but pulled the trigger due to publicity.

obviously that ambiguous trailer doesn't give much away, but aside from The Great Beauty IDK what else I think it's likely to compare to.

Cultural decdance is obvz a theme right now tho, and portraying the rich and attractive's moral decline's always gonna be easier to sell than a bunch of working class lads doing DMT in a field.

I saw 'Gone Girl' and 'Night Crawler" - Two of the best movies I've seen in a very long time, and both in one weekend!

What We Do In The Shadows . Brilliantly inventive horror comedy, flight of the conchord guys are on point.

Foxcatcher . Hard to know what to make of this, its compelling to watch but little happens, seemed like John Du Pont and Mark Scultz needed each other in a fucked up way, better if you don't know the real life ending too. Oh and Steve Carells nose wasnt as annoying as I thought it was going to be.

Under The Skin . Scarletts best work since lost in translation, amazing film that gets quite Kubrickian at times, in a good way, also unsettling in a good way.

Babadook - wrote it off as shitty jumpfest fodder that will spawn a load of sequels but watched it after reading William Friedkin's comments, doesnt live up to what he said but still a really solid suspense horror .
