@ paco

Hardy admits himself he is a public school boy - watch last Jonathan Ross interview. Im bias as he is my man crush no homo - Inception, dark knight rises, Locke, Bronson, warrior, Lawless, Rock n Rolla all good films imo.

I thought he was great in The Take - loved his character in that, good acting

Paddington in a party of 10 kids!
Dark room, whale sounds and a valium.

Paddington - excellent. Perfect blend of kid/adult laughs. excellent festive film.

Well Christian Bale plays the intense roles, think he almost gets first refusal on almost every great script right now, and he's no fucking poshboy at all, he's Welsh.

Birdman . Engrossing film, totally captivating, the long takes that Inarritu filmed are completely mesmering, Ed Norton is brilliant along with Emma Stone, Keaton is well up for taking the piss out of his reallife washed up forgotten Batman career status, fairplay!

2014 Top Ten
1.Grand Budapest Hotel (weird to see a film in Jan and know its the years best film hands down)
2.Out Of The Furnace . Amazing revenge thriller, Dickon Hinchcliffes soundtrack was perfect.
3.Guardians Of The Galaxy . Most entertaining film of the year
4.The Wolf Of Wall Street . Pure unadulterated entertainment, even Di Caprio couldn't ruin it.
5.Under The Skin . Glazer is at the top, truly unsettling film
6.Edge Of Tommorow . Started watching at 11pm school night to test the rip, couldn't switch it off.
7.Boyhood . Feels worthy but stays with you
8.Gone Girl . Psycho bitch craziness, only fincher could make this that good
9.Starred Up . I posted on here that O' Connell could go all the way, maybe the new Bale/Fassbender
10.Blue Ruin . Totally original revenge thriller by first time writer directors, engrossing.
Special mention to Lucy and X-Men days of future past, both very entertaining, plus Calvary was very underated.

Fuck man I tried Cold In July, watched 30 minutes just couldn't get into it, I'll give it another go though, think I found that Dexter guy was a great TV actor but couldn't make the leap to the big screen (it's a huge leap imo)

Ha ha, a film in your eyes has to be action based and involve blood and car chases to keep your attention. Wes Anderson isn't cool he's simply at the top of his game, I hate Ralph Feinnes as an actor but Wes Anderson dragged out the funniest part of his entire career, up there with the funniest movie actor parts ever, that's a director!

The only Tom Hardy performances I've liked are The Take and Bronson (which leant itself perfectly to his over the top style). I think his huge popularity is largely down to this weird, homoerotic muscles and tattoos and beards thing going on amongst young men these days and that makes him "hot" in Hollywood. Like good acting is growing a beard or juicing for an MMA film and giving an intense look.

For me Matthias Schoenaerts is the actor Tom Hardy wishes he was. His Rust and Bone and Bullhead performances make Hardy's tough guy efforts look a bit silly.

DiCaprio's a squeeky voiced, cherub-faced, man-child who specialises in taking oscar worthy roles and making them completely unmemorable. He's rarely if ever the best thing in his films.

I realise I sound like a hater but DiCaprio's the luckiest man in Hollywood, a bang average actor adored by the biggest studios and directors.

Whatever happened to Ed Norton? I know it was well known he was a complete arse to work but if you look at his IMDB after Fight Club it's 95% garbage. He's made just 28 films in 20 years!
