I use this thread a lot, essentially I go see what Carl doesn't rate and sack off everything he says is good. I'm guessing I'm not alone.

The beat that my heart skipped- I don't like calling films boring but there were large parts of this film where hardly anything happened. The main character only got more frustrated.

The devil, probably- Usual disconnect with French mystifying language. The acting was interesting, it's like they were made to repeat scenes until the actors were bored to shit so that they could place themselves above melodrama on some acting hierarchy by way of cynical cunt.

Suicide Squad taking an absolute beating by the critics, DC just can't seem to get it right.

opening weekend maybe, doubt it will be huge numbers in the long run just like Batman V Superman did. Only took $875mil worldwide, That's pretty terrible.

Not at all, 250mil production costs and double that in promo means

Batman v Superman, one of the most expensive films ever made, is on pace to produce a $278 million profit for Warner Bros. once home video, TV and merchandise proceeds are tallied, according to SNL Kagan analyst Wade Holden. That's less than the estimated $300 million the studio earned from Man Of Steel.

Compare this to what Marvel have done with their tentpole films it's actually terrible.

Eddie the Eagle . A lot better than you'd expect, the americans would off removed the alcoholism and smoking etc so good british job, properly entertaining, Taron Egerton has the constantly bewildered eagle off to a fucking Tee.

Hardcore Henry.

I'm a fan of Night Watch so thought I give this by the same producer a try. It's shot entirely in first person and is like playing a computer game/prodigy smack my bitch up music video so makes you dizzy. I really liked the start with the robotic limbs, the futuristic stuff and escape pod. The music is quite good as well.

Lots of blood, guts and gore.

Jason Bourne. Think I lied to my girlfriend at the end and said I liked it, but thinking back, it's the worst of the four real films, far too many coincidences, Vincent Cassel making an appearance as Mesrine and Tommy Lee Jones looking for his third fugitive after Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes. Too formulaic, no decent subplot (no Pamela Landy), very little narrative. However I enjoyed the London scenes and the car chases have been unfairly panned.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God-
Apocalypse now-
Embrace of the serpent-
All 3 have similar premises and themes; travelling by water and imperialism. The various examinations of social relations and personal unfulfilled goals make them all classics.

Selma- Good, deserves awards. Strange casting decisions; I felt as if Oprah Winfrey and MLK's wife both had lookalike characters. Some of MLK's lines felt recited and not actually said one person to another.

The battle of Algiers- Selma's protest scenes were utter shit compared to the ones in this film. They actually felt like real news footage taken with handhelds on the street and tripods from the tops of buildings. I bet the people in Paris in 68 loved this film.

Suicide Squad was a decent watch I thought - Nothing amazing but then they didn't go all visuals or anything really. Just a 'standard DC film'.

Eyebrows Cara is the only thing I'd change - she should never be in a film like this.
