Yeah, feared it was going to be 2 hours plus of the same scene, but I'm a play kind of person.

Re-watched 'Good Will Hunting' for the first time in prolly 20 years last night. Still stands up so well. DEFFO one of those 'must watch' flicks.

Royal Space Force- Similar quality animation to Akira but worse character design. Doesn't skimp on the in-universe politics like Akira. It should be considered a classic.

Shit I just watched my laserdisc of this the other day. Hadn't seen it since circa '95 at my local anime club.

Interesting your reference point for this is a film that is completely different in every aspect other than it's a cartoon.

Honneamise is by Gainax (Nadia, Gunbuster, Evangelion), hardcore fans who formed an animation studio, a totally original film concept.

Akira is from a long running manga and much more mainstream.

One thing that I'm surprised didn't stand out for you is Honneamise's soundtrack. Great stuff.

The background art was amazing. The soundtrack is something I usually take for granted. Both affect the pace of the film, it did give you time to appreciate them.

Watching this next, supposed to have subtext about the creation of Gainax:

I had Otaku no Video on VHS in the mid '90s. I wish youtube didn't exist so undeserving plebs like you couldn't watch it

Operation Finale - concur with above.
Wind River - some great visuals and pleasingly bleak. Not very keen on Jeremy as an actor though.

Red Sparrow . Watchable enough but Jennifer just sleep walks through her performance, entertaining none the less.

Solo a star wars story . Knowhere nearly as shit as all the critics said, pretty entertaining in the main, the only let down being Donald Glover who just lacked charisma and phoned in his performance, surprising to me as I loved him in Community and his modern maserpiece Atlanta. (Oh and the female robot was awful, plus Paul Bettanys overacting was painful to watch)

22 July, would have preferred it if they had acted in Norwegian rather than English for more authenticity but quite good. Feels a bit like a tv show rather than a film. The assault stuff is not particularly graphic but still very unpleasant.

Just watched the movie "Rubber" it is about a tyre that goes around killing people! It is the most ridiculous movie I ever saw, but somehow, a must-see I'd say!

Sorry to bother you.

I thought the voice-over thing could have been done better. New, interesting and relative to today. Makes me question the capitalist society we live in. Equisapiens made me laugh.

A star is born. - the most obvious storyline played by the most stereotypical characters you can imagine.
Boring and the songs are shit.
Have no idea why the film was made. There’s a thousand real life rockstars with better or more tragic stories that could be told.

The production company was Ticketmaster and Lady Gaga (using her stage name, not her real name) has an album of the songs out. Think that explains it.
