smith wrote: I enjoyed Gravity at the cinema. It was visually stunning but other than using the emptiness of space and the stories of astronauts lives back home to pull on its viewers hearts strings, it didn't really grip me and found it all pretty one-dimensional, which is never good for a sci-fi movie. Interstellar was much much more than this. It posed many more questions to the viewer on something we will never understand in our small lifetime. It was everything I had hoped from a good sci-fi flick and in my opinion a thought-provoking masterpiece.

Wish I saw Intersellar on the big screen…Gravity at the cinema was just visually stunning.

Some great movies mentioned so far, and also a lot that will be added to a watch list.

I'll just add Boyhood, for the uniqueness.

Knives out worth a watch whilst it's still on at the cinema? Looked a bit pony from the trailer, but a few mates recommended it

Just rewatched these classics over the last few weeks all proper bangers:

Full Metal Jacket
Silence of The Lambs
Reservoir Dogs
Platoon
Blow
The Machinist

Had forgotten most of them as watched just the once when they came out or when I was like 14/15 so well worth a revisit.

Gunbuster is better sci fi than interstellar.

That fucktard Matt Damon made a better movie than interstellar. Called the mars man or something.

I'm sure there are tons of mind bending sci fi epics that were better than interstellar, I just can't think of em now..

Knives Out - I thought was good and enjoyed it but a watch once and never again type of film.

Bombshell. Theron was really good and they did well on the prosthetics, Nicole Kidman they didn’t Laughing out loud
