Kill List
Man.. the final10-15 minutes just ruined it for me. Total shite. I was sooo with it too, An hour into it, it had me by the balls but then it just pisses it all away with a fuckin half cocked pulled out of its arse generic as fook ending.
I think the reason I reacted so strongly to it is that about halfway through I realised I had zero idea where the film was going. That is such a rare thing these days. The filmmaking was so confident and the character work so great I trusted the filmmaker. Things were never really explained but I figured they were all gonna link up and there would be some kind of great revelation at the end… but when said revelation turned out to be the so fuckin obvious and generic (not to mention not making a great deal of sense).. It just broke my heart. All those good feelings it built earlier.. the benefit of the doubt I gave to the vagueness and strangeness of certain moments all felt like IT WAS FOR SHIT! I felt used.

Not everyone's seen the original or this so you might want to edit that or put a big fuck off spoiler alert at the beginning.

Lars and the Real Girl. Been meaning to catch this for a while, but damn it was good. Gosling is fantastic in it. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed Finchers GWTDT as well. Rooney Mara did brilliantly to step out of Noomi Rapace's shadow as Salander and preferred his ending to the original/book(?). Hopefully he's on board for the inevitable sequels, although I doubt it seeing as it hasn't done great business at the box office. Who's idea was it to put it out at Christmas anyway? Hardly a family friendly film, what with all the *SPOILER ALERT* anal rape and that!!

Edited. Apologies. That pingu version of The Thing is amazing by the way, thanks for that.

It's well worth it. If you like Fincher then you won't be be disappointed. Rooney Mara really is amazing in it, and Daniel Craig is a great fit for Blomkvist. Shame it'snot getting more recognition, I can't think of many recent high profile films that are even half as good.

All 4 Mission Impossibles in the past two days - in a weird order 4,3,1 then 2. The first one is the best by far. So much more to think about when you compare it to the latest two which are fairly easy popcorn movies. John Woo’s effert is just wrong in every way.

Its not getting recognition because its a total copy of the original, even down to the set designs…
Hollywood should just leave well alone sometimes..
They did the same with 'Let The Right One In' which was remade and entitled 'Let Me In'….and wasnt a patch on the original.
The only remake I can remember that was almost as good as the original was The Departed (from Infernal Affairs), which although was pretty much beat by beat the same story, was just impossible to not like with the acting talent in it.
Looking forward to Spike Lee's 'OldBoy'.
