It doesn't say anything to me just a woman with her big floppy jugs out. Actually, I think a blown up cover of nuts/zoo ironically would have more to say culturally than that Jap painting.

if you saw it in the flesh (or even in high res) the detail is exquisite
not about the boobs for me at all (tho inevitably this is what draws attention)
have a look at some of her other work before you start comparing it to "glamour girl" fodder
audrey is from LA btw

Smiling kay i've burnt my print… just off to the photocopiers with this weeks Nuts

So you appreciate the level of detail but what does the painting's message convey to you?

I know people interpret art differently. For me, I have to relate to what's on my wall otherwise it's just decoration to impress others.

Her paintings have an unmistakeable celestial & delicate feel to them, especially considering she gets the effect that she does with oils. Quite an art Nouveau feel to them too. Not all art has to convey a meaning or a story although I think a lot of her works contain elements of seduction and after all all art is subjective. I don't have to relate with what is on my wall, I do with some but not all. The most important thing is it has to be aesthetically pleasing and something that normally commands attention. I for one like her work, and she is unmistakenly popular, her work always sells out, in large numbers too. Bedroom art for me as her work would clash with my tastes for the main living areas but still very good in my opinion.

The cushions are bapecamo cushions, got a few proxied for me a few years back. Managed to get colourcamo ones (red / green / purple) and OG camo in yellow and green.

Yes, you can get the ottoman seperately, think I'll be ordering it soon, but it aint cheap

Sorry if I sounded harsh, I can admire the workmanship and unusual materials, its definately different. sure it will look ok in the right room, like in context with sophisticated shit not with a collection of moe hentai vinyl figures or some shit. at least you didnt get the one with the two girls, you might have looked like a paedophile.

A couple of new pieces I've recently treat myself too. Some AKG cans, a vintage 1431 magnifier Anglepoise lamp (think these are quite rare), a small Nathan Ford oil.

cool. yeah I know they`re bapecamo. sometimes in japan people call that pattern sarucamo tho and I got used to it. saru means monkey in Jap.

yep, feel much the same as Stanley
for me it conveys several emotions…. shes seductive, sensual but detached and with an air of melancholy
and despite the ornate adornments in her hair, underneath her clothes, shes delicate and vulnerable
as with many of her works its all about the contradictions

can appreciate what your saying X but different strokes and all that

im with x & milspex on this one. can see if someone would like it for the detail but think its a bit distasteful and vulgar to have something like that on your wall.

Maybe you lot have been brought up in different worlds but to me, there is nothing vulgar or distasteful to it looks good in my opinion and i wouldn't feel embarrassed to have the rents or friends round when it was up.

Disclaimer: I realise R mainly says these things for the attention and will say the controversial

That you have a knack for trying to wind people up by going against the grain of the topic. I am sure i'm not the only one to have noticed this

make stupid comments regularly, never go against the grain for the sake of it. must be thinking of someone else.

not liking someones taste in art is exactly like not liking their taste in music or clothes or birds.
its all subjective to the person, so comments are pointless.
but in saying that, this is a forum and it would be dead if you didnt express your opinions, and in doing thus, you/they can gauge if your tastes are more mainstream or eclectic.
so its all gravy.

I'm not having a personal dig, I just found your comments odd. I can't see why anyone would be offended by such an image, it's not exactly provacative, however you imply it's somehow offensive. If you like art then you will know it's all subjective and this is quite the opposite to what some could apply the term vulgar to.

anyway, gravy aside………what kind of art are you into/own/admire?
