I wouldn't wear a belt for work, my trousers fit so why do a i need a belt?

I think not wearing a belt is a bit circa 2005 call centre fashion, finished off with a duffer zip hoodie and a big pink tie knot.

Do you work in the north?

Look at who Is saying wear a belt

Those who have no clue on tailoring

Shouldn't need a belt on a well tailored suit, and any suit worth its salt will not even come with loops (adjusters)

Of course if your idea of a good suit is Our Legacy then your fucked anyway

I don't wear a belt with a suit - I think it's about how formal the trews are, the style of those ones Cracka has, especially with the adjuster tab, doesn't look good with a belt IMO

A good many tailors wouldn't suggest you forgo the belt; they'd remove the belt loops if you was going to wear suspenders. The only people that can get away without belts and suspenders are guys with slim or muscular builds.

I don't think there's any right or wrong answer.

I think side adjusters are done even in Savile Row simply because many people go up and down in size during the lifetime of a suit, especially a well made one or as Snaye puts it " a suit that is worth its salt"

Trousers with belt loops but no belt looks worse than wearing a belt.

Trousers with no need for a belt because you have adjusters, or they fit dead on, and are worn low, and you don't think you will get thinner or fatter, are better still.

Nah my idea of a good suit is PRL which I own a couple of or the suits Dave Letterman used to get made for him. They all definately came with belt loops and are "worth their salt" to all but the most clueless wannabe rockstars who buy their suits at Zara.

It's an East coast American perspective on dressing, you wouldn't understand, I grew up partly in America in the East and the approach to life is larger in general, there's a no bullshit attitude to dressing, you want to look good but also be comfortable and also you want to look BIG.

PRL suit:

Dave's belt steez:

Letterman kicks ass and has more personal style than any wannabe GQ model:

Deal with it

Ah, that's the thing I hate most about most suits now, I'm all for rocking sagging jeans but sagging suit pants is fucking retarded, see it every day now. It's because the rises are too low anyway for anyone except Pete Doherty and most have no choice and no clue.
