EVERS wrote: no hate but i just dont get the love for them boots at all. they jsut look like standaard work boots thats people have worn for the last 20 yrs. and the heel plate thing is terrible. Puzzled

They're not meant to look completely different though? Puzzled I prefer the narrower toe box shape of the Virgil and that they are lower profile than Redwings etc, plus the kangaroo leather means they're really light and comfortable.

Great service from humanbehavior as well…quick shipping and they marked it as gift with a value of $20 Cool

I don't get the attraction either then.

I always thought it was the sole unit that makes them lighter as opposed to the kangaroo leather?

its a mixture of things, the sole unit on the newer ones is basically the same as on a redwing, so thats not really where the weight is lost, I think its in a few elements of the build weight is lost in materials and how they are applied, in the end unlike a redwing these are not built to wear on a building site, my pair from the first batch is still going strong, the leather is of high quality and being kangaroo is much more forgiving on your feet that the leather used in a real work boot, like nearly all visvim products, its about the perfection (in the designers vision) of a classic product
