I'm looking to spend sort of 350-450 tops on an LCD for my room. Needs to be easily hung. Can anyone recommend a really good set? Looking for it to be anywhere between 32-40". Better off shopping online or going to stores? Best brand to go with? Cheers.

try http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/selector.php and find the lcd that best meets your needs. lg do supply a lot of other manufacturers with panels but its more import how the image is processed and theres a huge difference between good and bad for very little difference in cost.
id pick one from hdtvtest that best suites your need and budget and get that

Panasonic & Pioneer are pretty much known as the best but they focus on Plasma, and the benfits of plasma aren't really shown until over 32"
On that budget you'd be best off look at Samsung IMO. As like a lot of people say they look great ans still produce a good picture. Toshiba are also worth a look, but might be too expensive
As for where to purchase.. where ever is cheapest, Ive used empire direct a few times with no probs. If you run a search on pricerunner the shops they pick upa re normally all legit.
We have a Samsung 40" LCD downstairs and its pretty good for the money, think it was only 600ish.
I havent looked at tvs in ages, but if you can best to future proof by getting full HD (1080p) and also there this new freesat thing? Might be worth looking at although it might be exclusive to Panasonic.

I havent got time to check the features but out of brand names think Toshiba is the best renowed out of those.
Think Philips and LG are made in the same factory, so go for the best looking one out of those.
Check for a review of them on google, but to be honest a lot of them are much of muchness within the same price bracket, so go for the one which looks best.
mums getting a 42" HD tv monday from hughes… anything i should look out for? know fuck all about HD and pixels etc
Got a panasonic th42px80b 42" plasma today, honestly say I am very impressed so far and its really good for the money, if your going to be watching standard def content, you can't do much better than this for the money. What are you going to be using it for?
42" is a little excessive for a bedroom, whats your viewing distance?
