My mate wants to borrow my car for a few months however he lives in a different city. Would he be able to get insurance on the car without being the registered keeper or owner? The car is on finance also, not sure if this would have an effect?

Don't think so because we live in different cities.

Be careful though with named drivers as any speeding, parking, congestion/bus lane penalties etc will all come back to you as the registered keeper regardless of who's driving

Anyone ever bought drink for a wedding? Trying to guesstimate how much I'd need for 70ish daytime guests and another 30 so evening guests, but really don't have a clue. A lot of places seem to say 1 drink per guest per hour, but that's fuck all surely? Any advice?

We had a drinks reception before our meal which lasted a couple of hours. We worked on 4 drinks per person, so a drink every 30 mins if I remember right. Split between beers and prosecco. And then added 25% on top to be sure.

The did a bottle of wine per person for the meal split 60/40 red to white in accordance with main course choice plus whatever was left from the drinks reception. Then a bottle of champagne between 2 for toasts

After that there was a bar if people wanted more at their own cost

Pretty sure you can get Transmission (torrent client) on iPads. It should be just as straightforward to torrent on a tablet.

Need some advice on a property I am buying.

Its a new build 2 bed flat, due to be completed in August. When I went to view it, they had the show apartment and the estate agent said everything was going to be the same as what we saw, which I was happy with.

So far, have given a holding deposit, paid for a mortgage and half of my solicitors fees, all totalling around 3k.

Found out today from my solicitor that they've allowed viewings in the block, so people can see what they are physically buying, as opposed to the floor plan which we were shown.
Went to see mine and found that the windows are not the same as the show home. In the show home they are floor to celing large windows and in the actual flats, they are 3-4 foot off the floor to the ceiling. Having picked a flat on the 9th floor and the block being called The View, the windows were a massive selling point for me and I'm now being told that that is not what I'm getting, nor is anyone else.
Theres also a few smaller things that were not mentioned, such as different colour worktops (it has a built in kitchen) etc.

What can I do about this situation? I still want the flat but feel like I should be compensated in some way, as I've clearly been misled.

Whats the deal with BT Sports, Im taking a sky package. There doesn't seem t be the option to add it on. It looks like its £20 a month on BT website. I can however not take sky broadband and use BT instead for £30 a month and get it free ?

SHould be getting a friends and family code on Sunday, so if anyone is taking sky and want a discount, drop me a pm over the next few days and ill reply once i get the code.

^ It depends on what the demand is like. If they are all sold or you bought at a good price and they might get more id just lump it. If they have lots to sell still try and negotiate a discount or some other incentive as the flat is not quite as described.

Did you sign off on a full plan when placing the holding deposit?

It depends what you have or have not signed for.

If you want to keep the place you may have to lump it, as stoney said, even if you are in the right.
Might be a case of take it as it is or they might offer you your deposit back esp if they are in high demand.
