This, got a brand new t480s last year top spec with full warranty off ebay for £750 using a 10% off code. I have no idea why or how (laptop business gone under?) but it's a great laptop. It is aesthetically hideous however
You mad? Thinkpad is a design classic.

Just don’t even consider getting anything other than a Mac. I had to use a Windows at work for 4 weeks and it actually made me sad. Unless you’re running Linux on something decent - just get a Mac

take heed, Bootcamp is abysmal .

I thought in my naievity that I'd be just like running Windows on any other laptop - but it isn't. It's a mess: battery management, trackpad, power management, fan curves, driver support - all are fucked.

We got our puppy at 12 weeks and was completely untrained. Took a fair few months for it to stop the occasional Rogue piss/shit. Especially at my gf’s work.
If I remember correctly, getting them off the pads and trying to get them to signal to go outside is the hardest bit.

Cheers, yeah he's pretty good for a young puppy. He's super friendly with everyone out on walks and we're really trying to be firm (almost shit him up a bit) with no's.

Not sure how to go about getting him to understand that we want him to shit and piss outdoors, will YouTube it lol

Cheers guys, will have a look on the bay for a T480s. They're just over my budget at the moment, so hoping a bargain turns up soon.

Used a Mac before, but MS Office programs felt like shit on it.

I use a T470 at work, it's good as well if you find it cheaper, it just a bit older so check specs carefully. Compared to the s series, the regular ones are a bit heavier and bigger, but nothing major.

Agree the MS Office on Mac is just a huge NO

Has anyone done a PBA (Packaged Bank Account) Claim?

I saw a sponsored link on FB in February and made a claim through the legal firm. They do get nearly 40% of any claim but better than nothing. I thought it might be a scam but received a 4 figure sum in my account a few days ago from my bank.

Barclays account had for years. They had overcharged for length of account … 8 grand! Did the paperwork myself (2 downloaded templates) worth it rather than paying the Shysters!!

Congratulations.

My current job have given me a POS Dell with a single fucking USB port. Drives me bananas.

Miss my Thinkpad so much. The keyboard on them is a delight to use.

What’s the basis of your claim?

A while back I sent some shoes that i'd bought elsewhere, back to the maker in Italy for a repair. They were sent back the other day via UPS without a 'signature required' service. UPS, at my request, always leave parcels that don't need a signature in the post room of the building i live in.

Checking the tracking, they were delivered yesterday, but I got no call. Driver left them next to my postbox… they're missing now.

Got a feelin that the package has been stolen. UPS won't help because the parcel was left 'at my express consent'. The maker won't help because tracking says that they were delivered. Moreover, I paid them €100 for the repair and this was via bank transfer, so I don't have protection for the full item value.

However, the shoes cost nearly €1000; seems absurd that they didn't send with a signature requirement. If they don't offer to help then i'm fucked right? Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Do you not have to make the request of where to leave your parcel for every shipment?
And did you do so for this item particularly?
If you did, not a lot else you can do.

Bit shit that they didn't send such expensive shoes with signed for delivery.

With UPS you can set a generic preference on the ‘My Choice’ thing they have and it defaults to that option for all non signature items.

I think I set it a while back and forgot to change it back for this address, but it wasn’t requested expressly for this item.

Either way I think there’s a tickbox basically signing away any rights to claim when you set this up but I didn’t think twice since all the non sig stuff is usually letters etc that fit in the postbox.

I’m playing out worst case scenario that I’m out of pocket. Was a bespoke pair and they def won’t be down for making me another pair gratis so…

In the early 2000s I went into my local branch and was given a ‘platinum’ account which I agreed to. This was flagged up as the PBA claim that got upheld.

Ahh right. So in the mid 2000’s, I went into a branch and was offered a HSBC Advance account which I agreed to.

Were they meant to have been mis-sold then?

If you didn’t use the ‘extra’ features like travel/phone insurance etc or argue that you were too poor to afford them then yes.

Divide by 5. 2.5 Lorazepam is equivalent to 12.5 diazepam.
