Anyone know of any positions that might be suitable for someone with a masters degree in social work and a host of professional skills. She can't keep doing this.

I work in ad-agency land - maybe this is a tangent but like, but - we need insights people who can operate as a researcher with 'hard to reach audiences'. - could be ideal

Same for user-research roles. Seems easy and something many places designing software, services, products need as part of their teams.

Wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a shipping company? Need a transit van worth of stuff shipped from London to Stockholm. Lots of options online so any recommendations would be good!

Bonus points if we they take a dog too Laughing out loud

What’s the best way to deal with noisy neighbours
We’re in back to back terraces and our neighbour out the back is a proper live laugh lover, constantly out in her garden playing trash music all day and night at ridiculous levels

Reported her to the council (anonymously) 3 times now but nothing seems to be happening. She’s dodgy/rough as fuck so, no way I’m going to try and discuss it with her.

To make matters worse we volunteer at a local foodbank which she comes to every week and lays it on thick how she never has any money. Obviously we see her chain smoking and smashing booze every other day.

You're gonna have to put your big boy pants on and have the conversation with her.

Bit awkward if she is an out and out radge. Sadly, I think you'll end up having a polite chat and she'll still keep on doing it.

I'd suggest moving house.

She seems to know all the local baddermans/dealers/dodgy fuckers so thought that might be a bad idea. Had the wing mirror smashed off my car the other day and don’t think it’s any coincidence.

I take it she owns the place? Def get the letting agents/landlord involved if she's renting. Keep a diary of everything that happens including videos/recordings as examples as you will need proof that it's been going on for a while. Council should have a dedicated noise team that should come out and take levels and you can always call 101 and get the police involved. Unfortunately she's probably going to know that it's you and if you talk to her first she will definitely twig on. Sorry, it's a shit situation to be in.

Not a lot tbh unless you get other residents to band together to raise a noise complaint. We have the same with a social housing neighbour who swears at her kids all the time and every time she is threatened with listening devices in her garden she tones it down. Been going on for over 5 years.

Don't you have to declare noise complaints to prospective buyers too if you come to sell, if that's an issue

My mate had this issue with some students next door so he drenched their hifi with his kid's Super Soaker when they'd gone inside. Laughing out loud

You don't have to, but any disputes that are recorded will show up on the particulars/deeds and can be used to negotiate a reduction in price

Doubt she owns it. Blatantly on benefits. Also has a 10 year old who she’s constantly berating/swearing at. So if she’s up til 1am smashing out Rudimental at top volume there’s no way he’s sleeping.

Thanks for the advice, will knock on the neighbours on my terrace and see if I can rally a bit of support, must be disturbing them too.

From someone that lived 2 doors down from The Dolphin in Hackney for 6 months, noisy neighbours is horrific. I basically didn’t sleep on Friday and Saturday night for months or had to go and stay with friends.
Anyway, hound the council, that’s what we did and they did come round a few times with his machine to test the noise and if it was compliant. They then formally write this down and I think after 3 of these they sent a letter to them which eventually made them turn the music down in that particular room of the pub. ( after I’d moved out).
I also know a friend who’s boyfriend had noisy neighbours in the flat upstairs and the council sent him a machine he had to use every time they were noisy and write down the decibels. After a bit they sent a letter to the neighbours too and it stopped.
Are you on no way speaking terms with tjem? Even though she comes to the foodbank? You could just initially try and in the friendliest, non confrontational, nice neighbour kind of way and ask her to keep it down?
