Going in two weeks. I’d appreciate if someone could let me know the must see attractions that can be done in a day. I plan to spend most of the rest of my time at the beach.

I’m gathering its not fantastic shopping wise?

Why don't you start in Belem - don't miss trying the pasteis da nata (custard pastries) at "Pasteis de Belem" -, then jump to Alfama/Graca, do some walk-around there, and finish the day at the bars in Bairro-Alto?! Checking at least one or two the miradouros (viewpoints/ overlooks) strongly recommended. (My personal favourites are "Senhora do nossa monte" in Graca and "Sao Pedro da Alcantara" right off the bars)

No, nothing exciting shopping wise..

What beach you're planning to go to

Last time I went we took the train to a place called Cascais, nice beaches there and the sea isn't fulla seaweed. Some great restaurants on the marina too, and you can hire a boat if you're in to that sort of thing

Yeah, was planning Cascais for beaches. Did consider going further South, but seems a bit too far out of the way to go, for just another beach.

Cheers for the replies.

I'm in Cascais right now, stayed 3 days in Lisbon earlier. Lisbon is a great city, but don't bother with shopping as I didn't find much - but plenty of decent bars/restaurants. Some nice places in Principe Real for drink/food/shops.
Rental cars (& trains) are dirt cheap, we got a car and drove along the coast (from Cascais further up North) and you have some amazing views from there, well worth it. I think we paid 39 EUR for 3 days of rental (all-in).

Just got back from a stag do there so obviously didn't do anything too cultural. The mercado de ribeira (timeout magazine) food hall thing is cool and well worth a visit. Also stumbled accross a nice roof top bar on the top of a multi story car park called Parque.

Apart from that we just strolled around, it's a really nice city.

co-sign on Parque.

Avoid Bairro Alto - found much better bars elsewhere.
Such a good city to explore.

Lux (John Malokovic's club) was class but strange - Lisbon's beautiful people but with proper techno.
Fridays ok to get in but 'locals only' on Saturdays.

My favourite bar in Lisbon, Pensão Amor. Amazing cocktails in that place…

Places to visit:
- Castelo São Jorge, Alfama, Principe Real, Belem, Parque das Nações, Terreiro do Paço, Avenida da Liberdade, Ribeira das Naus, Bairro Alto, Chiado, Rossio
- Outside Lisbon but really close: Sintra, Cascais, Estoril

Places to eat:
- For artisanal burgers: Honorato and Hamburgaria do Bairro (8 gbp)
- For pizza: Pizzaria Lisboa (14 gbp with starter, plate, drink and desert - chef food)
- Italian Food/Sushi: Este Oeste (located in Belem)
- Chef Food: Belcanto (around 75 gbp, bit more expensive) and Cantinho do Avillez (30 gbp)
- For meat: Atalho Real and Moustache Smokery (around 15 gbp or even less)
- Veggie: Miss Saigon
- Sushi: Confraria Lx
- and also, check Mercado da Ribeira, really nice concept.

To drink:
Check all the area around Bairro Alto, Principe Real and Cais do Sodre but my favourite ones are: The Decadente, Pensao Amor, Bom Mau e o Vilao, Sky Bar (Rooftop of Tivoli Hotel), Park, Silk, Hotel Mundial Rooftop, Lost in.

Clubbing:
Lux is the fucking best!

Stores:
In my opinion SLOU is the best one (Raf Simons, Our Legacy, Gosha, Soulland, Nike, Adidas, CP, APC, CDG, Norse Projects)
