if you look around you can get Angel for that price though it won't be that nice. Kentish town is cool, get the overground straight into farringdon takes 10 mins at most

I am in a 1-Bed in City of London, about £1700 pcm - Pay the extra, walk to work and save on travel costs would be my advice.

Where you at(no stalker)? Near barts?

Edit: would totally agree with the above if you can find a place.

Sadly we looked at Barbican 18 months ago and they seem to have gone up since then! Thanks for the area tips / advice both.

Not sure we would save that much not having a travel card but defo worth bearing in mind.

Bethnal green could probably get something nice and central line one stop to Bank

Anywhere on the thameslink/great nothern so what MoB said or Finsbury Park for example has direct trains to Moorgate (and new train operator about to run more trains including weekends etc etc)

Anyone used a professional snagging company during a new build purchase?

Golden Lane Estate, the 'Budget Barbican'

Thanks for the views.

We pay £1516pcm now in Zone 3, so will be paying the same 'all in' on a £1700pcm flat within walking distance of the City (less than a mile) due to transport savings. That could creep up a little for the right place.

Apart from Rightmove and Zoopla anywhere else worth looking?

Haven't really narrowed search down enough yet to speak to individual agents but Clerkenwell, Barbican (flats are a bit small in our budget on the estate itself) and close to Bankside fit the bill.

Professional snagging isnt really a thing. A building surveyor used to working on new builds or dilaps will do this best.

Moving to London at the end of November and need a room for 2-3 weeks until Christmas, as will be moving into a flat in January.

Struggling to find anything that short term at the moment that doesn't come with a hefty deposit attached, any ideas? Sent off a few replies on spareroom but most either haven't replied or want a longer term commitment.

Working near Embankment/Temple so within easy commuting distance preferable, budget can probably stretch to £150 a week.

Potentially have time to get a 0% credit card for the deposit if that's the issue? Lots of offers at the moment, assuming you can pay it via that method.

Cheers Cool Had a quick look, during the week there's decent availability, lots of weekends booked up but could always go to my girlfriend's then.

Hadn't thought of that, good shout. The deposit is the main problem yeah, have to pay for last month in my current flat which ends early Jan otherwise I'd be fine. Already maxed out my current card, but I'll start investigating thanks.

Being lazy here, left my bag at a mates house and need it. He isn't in until late tonight, I was going to send an AddLee courier but realised they stop at 10pm. Is there any others that I can do collection/pick-up 11pm+ without having a business account?

Buying a place and there's been the inevitable delays. As such about to be made homeless for minimum a month. Is there anywhere which does short lets bar airbnb? Waiting on a couple of friends and friends of friends etc. But in the meantime need to look elsewhere.

Moving workplace to illford soon…..requires moving from current place in Ealing.

Have zero experience with areas out east. Any suggestions for areas out that way?

Me and the missus
I bike/drive for work and she tubes to central. So need decent transport links.
Currently paying £1650 for a one bed.

ilford really isn't great, would suggest you commute to it from somewhere east even stratford.
