Why is east so hyped on here, its a shithole! Fine for a night out but otherwise its crap, when your highstreet has 48 varient versions of KFC you know whats up.
jordan, look at maidavale, camden, primrose hill, belsize park, kentish town etc

Kentish Town moved in 2 months ago, it suits me perfectly, 10 min walk to work, 5 mins to the heath, 10mins to regents park / primrose and great transport. Most importantly its safe, so the Mrs can walk home alone at 1am and not get any grief.
I did a fair bit of work to the place and did a total refit since it was last done in the 80's, im toying with selling it making a quick buck and moving in closer to central, but i like having more space, i went from 35sqm to 67sqm (1 bed)

it was fine at the time, but in hindsight it was far too small - the new tenants pay £360 per week

i thought having to settle for 6-700 sq ft was making a sacrifice because of where i want to leave. couldnt imagine less than 400.

Not moving but want to put some money aside in a bit for the long term and always read that north property is usually a safe bet.
If's is that type of money then i'm probably out

Depends on the rationale. If you want safe just go as central and prime as possible, near to a good station.
I still think there's some decent growth in shoreditch and city fringe.

I think North\North East is a good compromise…nice, safe, close to central London and East for nights out
