Not sure if this is the right thread but I've been buying day travel cards when I come down, more often than not only using 2 journeys, I'm down once or twice a month at the moment, is it worth getting an Oyster card, and is there any difference between the visitor and normal oyster cards?

if you dont have a hotel booked yet, i'd recommend merlin apartments, they've got loads of locations.
its about £120ish, for a real nice apartment /w kitchen etc

Was thinking an apartment might be the way to go, especially with the baby. Still have no idea what area would be best to look at though.

AFAIK you can't lose with an oyster card, have to pay £5 deposit but if you use more than a travel card would cost it just charges you for that anyway, so well worth getting one.

I'm having a weekend in London with the ball and chain this weekend. She's a veggie and we both used to love Red Veg when it was open, is there anywhere that does similar stuff nowadays?

Right. I have a works do at www.centuryclub.co.uk on Friday night. Kicks out at 1am, there's a lot of us, about 100, so I assume a fair few will want to do something after that. Where's good to go this Friday? Century is in Soho, the hotel is Paddington.

First thought is Brick Lane, we won't want to travel far on foot obviously… so whats on in Hackney, Brick Lane area?

What are my options?

Stay in Soho? Few nice bars around and Ronnie Scotts do a nice little disco upstairs until about 3am. Will be hassle carting a load of drunk people accross London in taxis at 1am.
