I have some B&W bookshelves and ideally id like to connect my mac - what's the best route for this?

1) USB DAC -> Amplifier -> Speakers
2) Google Audicast (or similar streamer) -> Amplifier -> Speakers
3) Some sort of all in one amp and steamer?

Anyone any experience? Or recommendations? A budget of around 300-500?

Probably a (second hand) receiver that has a DAC and amp built in, that supports the i/o you need.

How about a network audio player that supports AirPlay and an amp? I have a Denon system (Denon D-F109) that I can stream to from my Mac. It's not made any more and needs a separate amp / tuner but there's the Denon CEOL and D-M41 if you want all-in-one.

Either that or getting a separate google chromecast audio. Works great.
