Right, so April is approaching and I am on a hunt for my first raincoat.

Post yours, post the ones on your wishlist. What's the best brand for them?

I am looking for one in black or navy blue, knee length… the ones that give you the classy look - simple, sharp design.

Suggestions, please. Eternal gratitude!

This Mackintosh surely http://www.endclothing.co.uk/brands/mackintosh/mackintosh-hooded-dunoon-jacket-2.html

perfect for your preferences I'd think. also a bit cheaper than the normal rubberized version. the ventile cotton will also be more breathable and nice in varm weather.

can vouch for the mackintosh, the hood is removable and the quality is amazing. although mine is the one with rubberised cotton and corduroy collar.

Has anyone got any decent alternatives to a Mackintosh?

Seen this one from Arc'teryx –> https://arcteryx.com/gb/en/shop/mens/keppel-trench-coat

Anyone got any other recommendations, £450 Max budget?

Nanamica gore tex Soutien collars frequently pop up on ebay well within your budget.

That would be my choice.

The arcteryx is a bit too tech for me…

Sportspursuit have got that Keppel for £240 if you're a medium.
Second the Nanamica though.
