Night n Day, Dry Bar (both Oldham St), Moho Live, Matt & Phreds Jazz Club, Roadhouse are prob best bets for live music.

Keko for cocktails. Common for trendy folk. The Castle for a good pub.

Mint Lounge for a good club on a Saturday.

Good advice

I dont like that keko place, too cramped and the cocktails were almost all pre-mixed when I last went. Hula Bar seems better if you want a Hawaiian theme!

Black Dog Ballroom is quite nice

Anyone know of a good night next saturday? A pretty mixed group going out for my birthday and want somewhere that most will enjoy. Any recommendations?

Went to Cuba cafe last year and had a great night, might do the same this year.

venue re-opened called band on the wall, has loads of different stuff. have a garagey dubstep one called curve, a drum n bass one called soulution and on the other end of the spectrum have loads of world music, jazz and stuff. mr scruff also has a monthly residency there. there are a few clubs in that area, cool place called the roadhouse.

Yeah mate I love it, it's a bit weird though; it's like your in a bar on holiday in the middle of Manchester.. They play motown, soul and old classics I think the dance classes are during the week.

It's good for birthdays and occassions when you have lots of ppl with different tastes. I've just found out it's closed until the 2nd of February for Christmas Sad

I've got 2 American girls coming to visit me in Manchester for a couple of days in 2 weeks time. We're going seeing Holy Fuck on the 20th and will be going out at night but any suggestions of what to do with them during the day? I've lived here all my life and I haven't a fucking clue since Americans like looking at things, taking pictures and shit!
Is there anything decent to see in Liverpool that might be of interest? Cheers!

You could watch 'Control' at the outdoor screen in Spinningfields, 8.30pm start though probably clash with the gig.

Manchester Art Gallery has a good (albeit quite small) exhibition at the moment of Ron Mueck sculptures and some cool asian paintings/sculpture including a Murakami scuplture.

Old Trafford Stadium tour & museum is quite a touristy thing I suppose but its quite expensive about £15 each.
